Has she tried running the program in another browser? If she needs IE, an IE
clone such as Avant or Maxthon might do the trick.

Subject: TSGL: Help with Blackboard?
A neighbor is an instructor at a local community college that uses a
course planning and maintenance program called Blackboard.
Apparently it is used extensively at colleges and universities. She
has a problem with it that the college's tech support can't help
with right now. (Staff transition and overload issues.) She has
successfully used the Blackboard program for several years, but
apparently they upgraded to Blackboard Suite and that's when the
problem started. (Maybe coincidence--she may have changed some
settings somewhere. Who knows.)
At any rate, she runs IE under WinXP Home. She can log into
Blackboard with no problem and access most of the features, but runs
into problems updating her syllabus and course outlines (at least).
When the problem first appeared, IE popped up a box asking for a
Certificate and then froze. Only thing to do was stop the process
in Task Manager or reboot. I fooled around with the IE settings and
was able to stop the Certificate request from appearing, but the
program still freezes when you try to back out of the syllabus or
outline page.
She tried Blackboard using my computer and everything worked
flawlessly, so I suspect it's an IE setting that's the problem, but
for the life of me I can't figure it out. I tried everything I know
to try under the Internet Security, Privacy, Content (Certificate)
and Advanced settings, but nothing helps. Any ideas?
