I just finished reading this thread.  Right after I upgraded to the latest 
version of Webroot SpySweeper, my pc began running like an XT using DOS.  I 
also had my browser (IE) and email (Eudora) becomes unresponsive after the 
pc sat idle for a while.  Webroot posted a notice on their web site that 
the new version uses 256MB RAM - 1/2 of my total.

I just went up to 1GB, and it feels like a new pc.
