TSGL: System will not boot

Negative.
I can access the choice screen, showing safe mode and the other choices, but after choosing, the system always 
fails to load after the Win XP screen.
Without discs to reinstall the system, I can only install Windows 98.
  I would hate to lose Win XP if there is any way to save it.
