TSGL: Move Bookmark icon to desktop

Ed,

If you seem to open the same URLs every day, why not have the Browser open
them all as your "Home Page". You can actually have the browser open each
and every one of them when you start the browser. Just do the following ...

1. Open Firefox
2. Open each of these pages on separate tabs
3. Go to "Tools", "Options", and click on the "Main" tab.
4. Under the "Home Page" heading, click on "Use Current Pages".

I presently open 4 pages this way with Firefox The same can be done with
IE7, and it is actually easier to set this up in that browser, though it is
certainly not difficult to do so with Firefox. Unfortunately, this cannot
yet be done with Opera, though some Opera fans will try to tell you that it
can be done by Opera through it's ability to remember which pages were open
when it was last closed.

I am trying to find myself. If you see me before I do, please ask me to wait
until I return.

Subject: TSGL: Move Bookmark icon to desktop

I've tried all that I know, but...

Using XPPro, SP2, and FIREFOX, I have amassed a goodly sized list of
bookmarks, but I only use a few regularly, and fewer yet on a daily basis.
It would be most convenient to move those few icons onto my desktop, instead
of having to call up Firefox>Bookmarks>and plow through the huge list.

I can't 'drag' the icon from Bookmarks, or from the URL of the site, onto
the desktop, as the desktop is not visible on the home page of Firefox -
just a full white screen with Google and its home options centered. When I
click the Bookmark tab, the white background remains without a trace of the
desktop to drag to. I even tried to drag the desktop onto the white
background by using the border two-heeaded arrow, but the cursor and its'
'drag' only go as far as the moved border - then changes back to a normal
cursor. I can drag the bookmark to one of the upper toolbars, but that's
almost the same inconvenience of having it where it is, becaause I would
have to call up Firefox before I can get to the toolbar.

The right click does not come up with a usable menu, like an option for
'sendto' or 'shortcut here'.

Is there a simple and effective way to put a shortcut to a website onto the
desktop??

Thanks, ED
