Could be a variety of causes--something trying to update, or trojans trying 
to transmit out.  Run several  full spyware checks.

It would be nice if there was a utility that checked your computer for 
anything with auto updates---but I don't know of any.

Zone Alarm Pro has a log which shows the source and destination of 
activity. Go to "Logs and Alerts/View Log".
