Hi Lee. I seem to have lost your reply regarding the difference between
free versions of Zone Alarm and AVG. I did read it however, and now
understand that they do two different things. Zone Alarm protects against
intruders and AVG protects against viruses, worms and such. According the
grisoft website, AVG also has programs that protect against malware --their
malware program protects against spyware AND viruses-- and a "general
program" that protects against most 'serious' Internet threats. They even
have a firewall program. Anyway, I think I have a better understanding now.
My understanding is that the free version of AVG 7.5 protects against virus,
but does not protect against spyware. unfortunately, I missed most of the
recent threads regarding AVAST, which I think is an anti virus program. Can
you or anyone give me the URL for this list's archive so I can go to it and
read those threads?
Thanks
Glenn
