Hi Lee.  I seem to have lost your reply regarding the difference between 
free versions of Zone Alarm and AVG.  I did read it however, and now 
understand that they do two different things. Zone Alarm protects against 
intruders and AVG protects against viruses, worms and such.  According the 
grisoft website, AVG also has programs that protect against malware --their 
malware program protects against spyware AND viruses-- and a "general 
program" that protects against most 'serious' Internet threats. They even 
have a firewall program.  Anyway, I think I have a better understanding now. 
My understanding is that the free version of AVG 7.5 protects against virus, 
but does not protect against spyware. unfortunately, I missed most of the 
recent threads regarding AVAST, which I think is an anti virus program.  Can 
you or anyone give me the URL for this list's archive so I can go to it and 
read those threads?
