TSGL: c:/windows/ServicePackFiles/i386/ necessary?

hi
I see I have many large files
   DLLs,  EXEs, mostly
 in   c:/windows/ServicePackFiles/i386/
 which are found elsewhere, mostly in  C:/windows/System32

Anyone know if it is necessary to keep the contents of
                  c:/windows/ServicePackFiles/i386/  ?
