I don't know what your problem is, but it seems strange that both your
DVD-RW drives failed at once. It probably is not a failure of both devices
-- unless you had some strange voltage spike that hit both.
That said, the first thing I might try to do is to go to the Control Panel,
to the System Icon, to the Hardware tab, to the Device Manager, to
DVD/CD-ROM Drives and then uninstall the two drives.
Reboot and allow the two drives to reinstall themselves.
This may solve your problem. If it doesn't, then you evidently have a
serious problem that will require further investigation.
Good luck.

Subject: TSGL: DVD-RW & CD-RW not writeable
Hi list,
I've just recently had my two DVD-RW drives stop recognizing rewriteable
media. I am using Nero Ultra 7.5 and I still seem to be able to burn CD-Rs.
I haven't tested DVD-R because I don't want to waste the DVD (yet). However,
InCD reports that I cannot write to the RW media and Windows Explorer shows
0 bytes free. This behaviour has just started recently, but I don't know of
any system changes that would have produced this effect, although there
obviously was something. I have re-installed Nero, but that hasn't made any
difference.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
System: Intel Core Duo w/ 4GB RAM
Benq DVD-RW
Sony DVD-RW
WinXP SP2 (fully patched)
