Okay, RUSS -- my control set002 is curiously missing. Are you hiding it somewhere??? If so, please return it, immediately! I may be in serious need of it someday....soon. ;--)

have made any sense to anyone but my very close friends).
Yes, like you, I have all three of these Control Sets, and, like you, they
appear (after a very quick, not exhaustive look) to be identical.
Sorry, I haven't anything else to say, but I still haven't found myself. I
got up and looked in my chair, but I wasn't there. This is getting curiouser
and curiouser.
Russ
I am trying to find myself. If you see me before I do, please ask me to wait
until I return.

XPPro SP2.
In Regedit, under HKEY/Local Machine/System, I have 3 Control sets, named
Current Control Set, Control Set001, and Control Set002.
Expanding these, they appear at first sight to be identical, though I
haven't gone thru all of them closely.
Are all 3 sets needed? What happens if I delete Sets001 and 002? Would I,
like Russ, disappear, never to find myself again?
Maybe Sets 1 and 2 are backups which XP will initiate should the primary
one become corrupt or disabled?
Does anyone else have these, or am I unique?
