I downloaded Flash 8 but the laptop still didn't show the video. The
audio plays fine, but no video. I forgot to mention that I use the
Firefox browser, so when I clicked on the URL that takes me out to the
video.Google website, Firefox opens up. Out of curiosity, I copies the
URL into an Internet Explorer browser and, lo and behold, it plays
properly. When I right click on the video portion, it displays the
Flash 8 setting panel. So I went back and opened the URL in Firefox
again. While it was running (could hear the audio but no video), I
right clicked on the video area, it didn't display any information at
all having to do with Flash but did display the IE Tab, which is a
Firefox extension which allows Firefox to operate as Internet Explorer
for those few websites that don't display properly using Firefox. When
I clicked on "use the IE Tab", the video displayed properly. So
evidently the problem has to do with Firefox not using Flash properly, I
have no idea why or what to do about that, but at least I am able to see
the video now.

Someone earlier asked if I was able to play any video files at all on
the laptop and yes, I can view Windows Media Player videos just fine.

Thanks for all the suggestions. If anyone has any additional thoughts
about what I can do to make Firefox play the Flash videos properly on
the laptop, please feel free to comment further. Firefox does play the
Flash videos OK on my desktop so it's evidently something to do with a
Firefox setting but I sure can't figure out what it is.
