TSGL: Computer won't shut down

Ron, there's a LOT of possibilities.   Fill in some gaps:
What shutdown command is invoked?
 Is this every time?
What browser?
What programs were running prior to shutdown, and were they closed 
before attempting shutdown?
What video card? nVidia Driver Helper has been reported villan.
Have you tried enabling Dr. Watson?   [start/run/drwtsn32.exe ]
Have you detached any external hardware to see it that helps?
