TSGL: A curly XP Service Pack 2 query

When I installed SP2 on my Dell, it went very smoothly. No hassles at all.
Same was true for my wife's computer, also a Dell. My new computer I built
and I purchased XP with SP2 already included.

Yes, I found SP2 would never "take" on my OEM XPPro, either. It would get
part way through and get stuck, leaving a bit of a mess behind.

Finally I made a slipsteam CD from my 2 separate XP and SP2 disks (I think
the SP2 disk was a magazine one).

I reformatted, and the slipstream disk has worked perfectly ever since,
both on mine and repairing other machines. Installs like a dream.

Well, as near to a dream as Windows is ever likely to get.
