Hello Ed,
Too many possibilities to cover in here, but a good start is this KB

It would be advisable to download and install IE7,
<http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx> which is
the most
up-to-date and secure version of IE. Read the checklists & Release Notes
before installing.
You could also download/install either Opera 9.02
<http://www.opera.com/> and/or Firefox 2.0
<http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/>
and try the same pages in one/both of those. It is handy to have a other
browsers installed to test stubborn web pages. If they don't display
properly in either, then the problem is narrowed to one of your
prophylactic utilities.
