TSGL: Dual computers with one monitor/keyboard

My wife brought home a laptop & docking station to use for work. She 
already has a desktop.

Rather than setting up a separate workstation is it possible for the 
two computers to share a monitor & keyboard (other than the obvious 
method of unplugging from one machine and plugging into the other)?

Either a manual or automatic method would be fine.
