Elaine,

I'm guessing that the MHPE is an older program which you are trying to 
run on a relatively new system. You don't say in your problem 
description whether the program has ever run properly on the XP machine 
or if you had it running on an earlier system.

You can try the following to see if it helps:

Right click on the shortcut to MHPE then click on properties. Click on 
the Compatibility tab and check the box for "Run this program in 
compatibility mode for". Then select the best choice from the drop down 
list. If the program was running properly under an older operating 
system, choose that from the drop down list, otherwise start at the 
bottom with Windows 2000 and work up until something works (or not).

If it does work, check all the other places where you can start the 
program like the Start Menu. I think those might be changed 
automatically but I don't remember for sure. If not change them too.

It may not work but it's easy and free.....
