Yes, it is definitely age creeping up on me.

A few of those desktop icon shortcuts just disappeared. I didn't order the clean-up or send them to the 'bin'. There are no little arrows on the task bar for me to click, except the quick launch.

I give up. Where did I hide them? No one was near my computer and nothing exciting had happened.  "System Restore" didn't put them back. The right click mouse program still has the deskktop items locked.

Machine OS is XPPro w/SP2.

These were icons that I use all the time. I tried to restore them one at a time, but they never showed up on the desktop. 

I would appreciate some guidance from you younger folk.
