Well, I for one as a tech clean infected machines almost every week that are
running AOL's "security software", to use the term loosely. I would not
recommend relying on their software as it simply does not do its job in my
experience.

Subject: TSGL: Which Anti-Virus and Firewall To Use
AOL states that my safety status is poor for the following two reasons:
1. Multiple anti-virus programs are installed on your computer.
To take full advantage of AOL's Safety and Security Center, provided by
McAfee, we recommend uninstalling the following anit-virus products:
PC-cillin Internet Security - Virus Protection
Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006
2. I get the same message when AOL wants me to uninstall the same two
programs firewalls that I use for anti-virus to be able to install AOL's
firewall,
provided by McAfee.
AOL is my default but I prefer using PC-cillin Internet Security and Trend
Micro PC-cillin Internet Security rather than use AOL's McAfee that only
loads
when I sign in to AOL.
I need to know if I'm doing the correct thing by just ignoring AOL's
statement that my safety status is poor.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Toni
