Don -

Thanks very much. You solved the mystery.

The My Music folder got absorbed into the RioCarbon Music Manager software for my MP3 player. It seems that the "Manager" polls all sources of music and consolidates the files (and folders) into its' Library, in order to prevent duplication. Copying of CDs defaulted into the Manager's Library where it was ripped , decoded into WMA,NP3...and stored under many different search keywords like Album, Genre, Artist...
A real good convenience, if one is aware of the default.

Your reference to that being a different story, when I mentioned the Manager, gave me the clue to research out the truth of the missing folder.

When I uninstalled the Manager, the EMPTY My Music folder returned to the Start menu position.

Thanks again.

ED
