TSGL: RAID Help

Hey everyone,

Over the last little while i've been thinking of building a new computer.
I've heard of IDE, RAID, and another one which i don't know how to
spell(SUCSI?). I know the basics of how IDE works but i have more then 4
drives to connect now.

While i was out looking at new items i got a good deal on a case, 3 hard
drives and a 620w psu. Soo now i have 5-6 hard drives to connect and a DVD
DL Burner. How can RAID or SUCSI(?) help me? I Wikipedia'd RAID and am
getting kinda confused on how each level works and such.

And what kinda of hardware would i have to buy for RAID or SUSCI?

So i'm here hoping someone can help explain it a bit better.
