TSGL: Flash in IE 6 or 7

I agree with Russ. I just upgraded from Sun Java 1.4.2 to 1.5.0. I
didn't have any problems but the new version was installed in \Program
Files\Java in a new folder and the old version was not removed. As I
said though everything seemed to work ok. I'll try uninstalling the old
version later.

As I remember there have been lots of complaints about Flash. It doesn't
show up in the add/remove list and I think I saw somewhere that
Macromedia (now Adobe) has a special program you can download to remove
old versions before installing the new ones. I installed the newest
version (v 9.0.28.0) which went ok but I didn't explicitly uninstall the
old ones. These old versions can be multiple and in several places,
especially if you have multiple browsers.

Try running the Secunia Software Inspector.
<http://secunia.com/software_inspector/?task=load> This will seek out
insecure versions of several popular programs (MS, Adobe Reader, Flash
Player, Quicktime, Realplayer, etc) giving you their version, location
and the version of the latest secure download. It will find multiple
copies of Flash if they exist and will even find them if they are
renamed or in non-standard folders.

However, (there's always a however) Secunia needs the latest version of
Java to run so you'll have to get that installed and working first.
