TSGL: IE6 and IE7 - huh?!?

Dieter and Michael,

Whether or not Service Pack 2 is on Michael's Windows install disk does not
matter. The repair install still has the same chance of working.

If your Windows installation disk is SP1 or SP1A etc....then after
completing the "Repair Install", either download SP2 or use your free
genuine Microsoft supplied disk, which can be ordered here...

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

Looking at the situation as a whole, I doubt you would save time doing the
repair install, as you can see by the following link, there are quite a few
potential hitches along the way.

Given that a clean windows XP install can be done in under 3 hours including
driver and windows updates, I think it would be easier to install clean.

There are methods of backing up your Outlook email contacts, your email
folders and your email settings, as well as your bookmarks/favorites and my
documents. google around, you'd be surprised how easy it can be.

Just a quick note... if you are running an accounting package... backup the
whole folder where the application is installed, this way it ensures you
won't lose any forms etc...

Good Luck,

Justin
