I started out using Pinnacle's Studio program to author DVD's and video.  I 
would NOT recommend this prog. to anyone except the vilest of enemies!! 
True trash programming. Nothing but trouble.

I now use Sony Vegas for burning DVD's and editing video.  I have never been 
happier with a Sony program!   It does all I want it to do and more.  The 
more I use it the more I love it.  You will be making pro quality DVD's in 
short order with Vegas.  The version I have is Vegas Movie Maker + DVD 
Platinum.  There are more expensive versions, but this works well for my 
hobby/business.
