TSGL: Seeing RED.... X's that is

I should know the answer to this, because I've dealt with it in the past, but just can't remember.  Trying to help a friend (long-distance) so all I have is a description of the problem.....

[In the last several weeks after i've been logged on for awhile all the graphics turn into little red x boxes. It does this in the links I try to click on also..any suggestions or fixes?]

Can anyone help? TIA
