I agree. I prefer not to have any spam downloaded to my pc so use
MailWasher (which checks all my accounts at once) to delete spam at
the server level. Both my ISPs use BrightMail so I get very little
spam these days. You can also delete at the server level by using
your ISP's web mail.

While development by Qualcomm has stopped, the user base is quite
large, and the very active list serve is a great resource when you
have a problem.
