For starters, see if System Restore fixes it.

Is it USB or printer port? Does it show up in Control Panel or Device Manager?

Printer drivers are a pain. Usually they won't reinstall unless you 
uninstall them first. The more you try, the worse tangle they seem to get 
themselves into. If you don't disconnect, reconnect, uninstall, reinstall, 
all in the correct order, often they won't work. Trouble is, every one 
seems to be a law unto itself, and there's little correlation or standard 
procedure between brands, or even between different models of the same brand.

It's a shame printer software has never matched their brilliant technology.
