Yes-- for 11 years now. If I had a buck  for every time it's rescued my 
computers, I'd be a rich man.

It's  one of the first things I load onto any new computer---followed by a  
registry backup.

Much more satisfactory than relying on the flaky  System Restore--and you 
can keep the registry backups forever--even burn  them to CD in case you 
need to reformat. Just replace the registry with a  known good one and you 
don't need to reinstall most of your software ---  except for the ones that 
place files in the system folder.

Indeed,  just 1/2 hour before receiving Chucks' email, I had decided that my  
computer was starting to get a little sludgy in performance, so I did a  
registry restore back a couple of months---it takes all of 10  seconds.  Now 
it's back to its old self again, I've gained 10 seconds  on reboots, and 
I've lost nothing in the process.
