Hi H
How are you?
I had the same problem and searched forever and I'll I came up with was AIM,
which is working perfectly.
I did have to do a lot of tweaking to bypass AOL's parental control's and I
blocked everyone but my husband. I then did his computer blocking everyone
but me.
I have a ton of friends that IM each other all the time and they still don't
know I have it so I assume it's working perfectly. It sure beats yelling
from one end of the house to the other<G>
This List has given me the confidence to "go for it" and at least try it, I
did and it worked.

To all:
Is anyone out there using or can recommend an instant messaging system
to be used ONLY on a local area network. I need something simple, free
and that doesn't connect to the Internet. I need absolutely minimum
features. Just something to replace a loud shout between 2 rooms when
both folks are working on their computers simultaneously.
TIA
H Davis
