TSGL: Watching mini dv tapes on TV

Kathryn....

You won't find it.

Mini DV is a digital format thus it will not be
compatible with VHS which is analog. The gadget you
remember used VHS-C (compact) tapes. The camera
recorded it in VHS format thus the adapter could be
used for viewing in a full size VHS Vcr.

If your TV input jacks are in the back rather then the
front, I would get an audio-video Male to Female
extension cable (Three RCA connectors usually colored
Yellow (Video), Red (Right audio channel) and White
(Left audio channel). Then you can connect from the
front. If your TV input jacks are already being used
you can get an auidio/video switch to connect 2 or more
items to the same input jacks.

Take your camera and cables to a radio shack and
they'll advise you.

I vaguely remember my mother using a similar device several years ago with an older style camcorder. Don't know if her tapes were mini dv or something else, but I know she had some sort of adapter.
