TSGL: No optiony for Internet Explorer in customize dektop

I have a PC running XP Pro SP2 on a home network.  When I go to the Display
Properties, then Desktop tab, the "Customize Desktop", the checkbox and
label for "Internet Explorer is completely gone. I have "My Documents", "My
Network Places", and "My Computer" all present and accounted for. I've
Googled on this and can't seem to find a solution to bring back the missing
checkbox for Internet Explorer. If anybody knows how to restore it I'd sure
appreciate the instructions!
