TSGL: test

Thanks, Ray ...

Even more evidence that we Coovers are rare.

I was amazed that anyone would go to the trouble that you and H. Davis have
gone to on this subject.

But the numbers don't surprise me. I see that my great grandfather, a civil
war veteran from Pennsylvania who immigrated to Missouri with 8 kids (I
believe he got the land for his service in the Army) and produced another 3
there had some influence as several of his progeny settled in Nebraska.

The total number you found was 259. (A Math PhD helped me get that number -
along with a calculator - I hope I didn't make a mistake). There are
probably a little more than a 1000 of us in the US and Canada.

And I could go on and on if I wished, but this is certainly out of the
boundaries of this email forum. And I'm sure this is boring to most of you.

Russ,

It's been a boring night around here so I did a little search on "Anywho"
and it turned up a few Coovers - at least those who wish to be known, or
found. I assume there must be others. Hope no one minds if I list the
results....just for fun!

I got lazy and didn't add it up for a total, but it seems to me that some of
these Coovers have tickets on the "Love Train"!

Russ, it might be time for one of those BIG family reunions. ;-)

Waynesboro is very near what I call "Coover" country.

The name Coover is 100% American (they changed it from the German "Kober")
and was taken by my ancestor in the late 1700s. They lived in Cumberland
County, Pennsylvania, just west of Harrisburg. All Coover family members
born into the family descend from one man and his wife who immigrated to
Pennsylvania in 1730. If you check the Harrisburg phone book, you will find
a half page of Coovers. Anywhere else in the country, you'd be lucky to find
any, and certainly no more than 2 or 3.

As one of the rare folks who carry the surname, I am proud of my families
accomplishments.

Russ

Russ,

Yes, I know exactly where Mike is. It's a small town, Waynesboro, in
south central Pennsylvania, not all that far from me and probably closer
to Toni. I've actually been there (or at least through it). A technology
metropolis it isn't.

Just ribbing you about the cover name since you and Don seem to be more
involved in keeping the list going than anyone.
