TSGL: Nothing then a blank screen after PSU change

I did chance the resolution at all when I chenged the PSU. Even if that
would be the problem, I should at least see the Compaq logo during the
boot process but there is nothing. I did try the F8 but I can not boot
in safe mode as I can not see what option to select.

That usually means that the system is set to a screen resolution beyond
the limitations of the monitor. Is it an old monitor? Possibly the new
mobo has set the resolution too high for an older monitor to see.
Trouble is, without a visible screen, I'm not sure how you'd reset the
resolution if you can't see the os.
I assume you've tried the usual F8, escape, delete keys, etc to try to
get into boot menu so that you can boot into Safe Mode. Then you can
lower the resolution.
Was the other monitor you tried capable of higher resolutions?
