TSGL: LCD monitor turns black - update

Hi all. Just to let you know the outcome of my borrowing a working monitor
from my brother-in-law to see if it too would go blank periodically. This
past Thursday he brought me a CRT type monitor; I hooked it up and it has
been working perfectly. In the mean time I took my LCD monitor apart to
take a look at the light up lamp(s) I Didn't see any lamps. Basically
there are two parts inside (one is square-shaped (about 3x3 in.) and the
other is rectangular (about 3x 1½) . The shield come off easily on the
rectangle (3x1½) No bulb there, just electronic stuff on a little board.
The square unit, which has the thick cord running into it, looks to be a
pain to take apart. I would think that a bulb would have been made easily
accessible... but I suppose it has to be there, no?
