TSGL: disk management not working

It's XP home and I believe I have rights (nothing has changed in this area  
since I was able to open disk management.

To do this I need to go  into "disk  management."

When I click on in "computer management"  a blank screen  comes up.

I have gone into "services" and started  "logical disk  manager" and 
"logical
disk manager administrative  service" as  instructed in a google  websearch
for
the problem  but could find no  other help.

Any   ideas?
