TSGL: disk management not working

OK, thanks-- after tinkering around with things in system32 I finally got my
disk management working but now I'm having trouble correcting my original
problem.
Whenever try to open "my documents" or save something to it I get the
message that it is unavailable.
Some time ago I mounted the "my documents" folder to H drive, a partition on
another hard drive on the same machine.
I did this because there was more space available on H.
My problem started when I restored two partitions with Acronis because of
troubles with Internet access and slow operation.
I made Acronis images of my C and E drives some time ago. C drive has my OS
and E drive has program files.
When I restored these two partitions Acronis misrepresented partition E as
D. consequently my E files got stored on D which was my music partition. E was
unchanged.
I know this is confusing, that's why I'm confused.
When I got the message that "my documents" was unavailable I tried to
recover it.
It couldn't be deleted so I renamed it with the arbitrary name "dox", then I
created a new my documents
file but dox retained the properties of my documents.
In the manual they say that in disk management to click on "view" then
"drive paths" and it should show mounted folders but the box is empty.
That is why my original question was how to renew disk management.
How can I get my "my documents" folder to work again?

Hi,
check whether there's a file named filemgmt.dll under %Systemroot%\system32.
If not, you can try to find it in %Systemroot\Servicepackfiles and copy it
back to where it should be.
Otherwise I've read somewhere it could also be a problem with DCom
registration ...

Subject: TSGL: disk management not working
I have a 4 yr old Compaq with XP-sp2 1.4 ghz cpu and 736 mb ram.
I am trying to correct a file mapping problem.
To do this I need to go into "disk management."
When I click on in "computer management" a blank screen comes up.
I have gone into "services" and started "logical disk manager" and
"logical
disk manager administrative service" as instructed in a google websearch
for
the problem but could find no other help.
Any ideas?
