TSGL: Opening Excel Files with No Association in Vista

1.  You didn't say which version of Works you have, but most versions 
that I've seen allow you to use its spreadsheet to open Office .xls 
files.  First open the Works spreadsheet and use it to open the .xls 
file.  The viewer is also an excellent suggestion, but using it only 
allows you to look at the spreadsheet and print it, but not make changes.

2.  You should be able to make a file association through My Computer 
(Windows Explorer).

View  >>  Folder Options  >>  File Types  >>  New  (this is the path 
for Win XP, I don't have Vista available)
