I'm not familiar with this problem, so am not aware of any specific software
to help you but ...
Have you thought of copying the files and folders (not the drive, itself -
you don't want to clone this drive) to another drive, reformatting the
original drive, and then copying back?
There is lots of software that could make this process easier and faster
than trying to drag all the files and folders from one drive to another. I
like and use the freeware Karen's Replicator
http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp
for file and folder duplication but, in fact, you could simply "Select All"
and "Paste" and that would get the job done.
This might take a while to do, but, once done, would solve the problem for
the future.

Subject: TSGL: Hard drive ownership problem
Hey all,
I've got a 300GB hard drive with ownership problems, I
originally had the drive in my old computer and then put it in my server.
The old computer has died since then.
Whenever I go to view ANY folder on the drive I'm not allowed, even when
logged onto the server, I have to go into ownership change it to myself
close that window, reopen it, then allow myself access.
That's a VERY tedious process, especially with hundreds of folders and
files. I tried changing ownership and permission to the drive itself, it
opened some of the folder but a large majority are still inaccessible.
Anyone know of any software that can change all of them FAST?
TIA
Thanks
