Hi,

In OE6 one can set this appropriately with each single address. OTOH - I've
just checked my own settings, which sofar were NOT 'send as plain text
only'. But of course this wouldn't be a problem if I only stick to sending
plain text only, which I always do.

The most likely cause is that the your emails may contain formatted text,
which is generally forbidden by most forums for a number of good reasons
(mainly security-related). It is not a good practice at the best of
times.

The defaults in OE need to be changed to "send plain text only" or some
  similar setting.

Perhaps inadvertently, your messages may contain some element of
formatting--could be in a signature for example, or even italics.

Send a test to yourself and see if you can detect any part which looks as
if it might be formatted (ie not plain text).
Gmail probably doesn't have this option, which would explain why it gets
  through.
