Hi,
I'm using a quite new PC with Vista Home Edition and a nVidia 8800 GTS
graphic card.
I updated the GPU drivers about half a year ago without nay problem. But
now, I'm not able to do that anymore. I downloaded the latest drivers
from nVidia homepage, version
"169.25_forceware_winvista_32bit_english_whql.exe (which was published
December 20)
After the drivers are installed my screen goes blank. This will happen
after the restart and just when Windows is almost loaded. The screen (a
HP 24" LCD) goes black and I see a message "No input signal". The PC is
still up and running though as I can here the HD working and the fans
are blowing.
I have now tried three times. First time by just installing the exe file
(as it is described in nVidia's pdf manual). Second time by first
removing old drivers before I install the new version. Third time, by
selecting the international version of the drivers. What ever I do, the
result is the same - a blank screen after a restart.
When I go into Safe Mode I see no conflicts in Device manager. Safe Mode
is also what I have been using to roll back the drivers to a previous
restore point.
Any ideas what I should do?
