TSGL: browser Problem?

I have a 4 yr old desktop with 1.4 Ghz , 732 Mb ram, XP sp2 home.
Several days ago I noticed that in Firefox sometimes when I would click the  
forward arrow it would jump back a page. Checking further I found that this  
would sometimes happen in IE and also windows explorer! 
I installed FF 3.0 but the problem did not go away. 
Usually it only happens every so often but the other day I was trying to  
book a flight and every time I entered my name and credit card info  and  clicked 
"next" it went back. when I got back to the page all the entrys had  expired 
and had to be re-entered.
After this happened 3 times I went to another computer to complete my  task.
I have heard that these 3 app's share certain files but beyond that I have  
no idea what to do to fix the problem.
