I'll replace the cmos battery tomorrow---could be a possibility, as
removing it gave the same result.
I also tried swapping memory around, and tried 2 more known good keyboards.
No difference.
I removed the video card to see what happened. Lots of horrible squawks
like I was trying to kill it --- I was--- and no screen at all, as I'd
expect. So I guess the vc seems OK.
What beats me is that it just stops dead at the end of the POST screen. No
attempt to start loading XP. No sign of hunting and no way to enter bios.
