TSGL: Old computer

Have you tried to boot to DOS on a 3.5 diskette? When I have problems, that is one of the
first things I try as it least it proves that the machine is at least minimally in tact.
The HDs may have to be unplugged first.

Good idea, but I don't have any USB keyboards to try. I tried removing the cmos battery,
but no difference. She says it's been keeping good time, and I tried it with a new
battery. Same result.

I don't see how resetting the bios is going to help in any case, it's not likely to change
the boot order to enable a CD.

I think we're flogging a dead horse (or maybe dead mobo) here, so she's decided to save up
to buy a full upgrade kit, which will include ps and hd.
At 6 years old, it's not worth spending much more time on it.

Thanks everybody for your help, we seem to have covered all possibilities. RIP.
