TSGL: Spellcheck in Windows Mail

A friend has a new Sony laptop with Vista installed. She is Japanese.

The primary language on the computer is English, but it seems to read
Japanese characters in her email. She says she cannot type in
Japanese---that's not a problem.

When she creates a new email in Windows Mail and clicks on the spellcheck
icon, a message comes up that "spellcheck is not available in this
language" (English)

How can she install spellcheck into Windows Mail?

Spellcheck in Word 2007 is working in English. As a possible workaround, we
tried to compose an email in Word, but we could not find any way to send
from Word direct to WinMail. There seem to be a few email icons in Word,
but it's far from obvious. In fact, I'd describe Word 2007 as a complete
shambles for those of us with IQ's of less than 20 (I couldn't even find
any Help menus).

Is there an easy way to send from Word to Email? There's nothing in the
right-click menu that helps.

I don't use Word myself and never have (now I remember why---it's simply
gross overkill for 95% of users, and seems to even less intuitive now than
it ever was). Though I do concede that it's wonderfully functional for
those who know how to work it and need its vast functionality.

While typing this, another question occurred to me, though it's not
actually a problem---just idle curiosity at this stage.

Is it possible to install 2 languages in XP or Vista, and switch from one
to another at will? With Japanese, I assume you'd at least need a second
keyboard with Japanese characters. How would you get on with a laptop keyboard?
