TSGL: what makes a computer clock lose time?

Normally that is caused by a weak CMOS battery. But since you're running XP
Pro, you can have the clock reset automatically until you can replace the
battery. Click on the clock in the task bar, Go to Internet time tab and
select the time clock you want to use to keep your clock synchronized and it
should keep your clock accurate while you're powered on. Of course, once you
power down, the battery will not keep it up to the second.

Subject: TSGL: what makes a computer clock lose time?
I have a brand spankin' new computer that my husband and I built in January.
The clock keeps losing time. It's lost seven minutes since Thursday. What
could be causing this? How can I fix it?
I have an ASUS P5K-E/WIFI motherboard and a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2x4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor.
I'm running WinXP Pro.
Thanks,
Luminosity
