I'm not sure this will work, but you could download the latest version of
Visual Basic Runtime 6.0 and install it over whatever you have now. One
place I know you can get it from is at Karenware.com. One of the pages where
it is available is
http://www.karenware.com/powertools/runtimes.asp
You can also get previous versions of Visual Basic Runtime on this page if
you prefer them.

Subj: Runtime error!
I've got a Compaq running XP-SP 2.
Up until several days ago everything was OK but now when I search for a
file
in Win explorer, if the dog does not find the file right away a box pops up
saying:
Runtime error!
Program: C:\windows\explorer.exe
This program has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way........
At the top it says:Microsoft visual C++ runtime library.
I searched Google for this and it was mentioned to delete the AOL toolbar
and the Google toolbar
to correct it.
I don't have an AOL toolbar but I deleted my Google toolbar - still the
same
problem.
I also tried system restore with no luck.
Any ideas?
