We do when the task impossible.  Imagine we used your lock box analogy, but we then sealed the box up and threw it into the mouth of an active volcano, and it sunk into the lava.

This is the nature of encryption.  If there was a means to decrypt an encrypted file, then encryption wouldn't be any good.
