Tilman,
If you are using a German version of Vista, you probably won't see SP1 for
awhile. I'm not sure of the date of release, but you can probably find that
information on one of the excellent German technical web sites.

Lee,
<Does anyone know what the impact will be of NOT installing Vista SP1?? >
So long I've only heard about possible impacts of installing it, and that
otherwise it wouldn't really improve anything ... personally I haven't seen
it as an option under updates sofar, but I'll check this later. Doing a
restore is certainly a good idea if you're in a spot like this ...
< I remember the mess that many people had with the XP SP2 update a few
years back. >
So do I, and - earnestly - this sofar has kept me from rushing to that Vista
update. I might well still wait another 4-6 months before I accept it,
unless they force it on me.
Thanks for sharing your experience
Tilman
