thanks for for your supportive answer. And also for the ZoomTex idea .....

Later: ....... I've had a look at ZoomTex (found a hijacked website) - ouch! 
Their pricetag is quite something - 500-600 or so ! Guess I'll first try to 
use Win XP's onboard tools for the visually impaired.
