Mike,

Double click on the icon in the tray and see what component isn't green. 
Sometimes if there's a program update (not the version 8 one) and a 
signature file update if might take more than 1 update to get everything.

You can also click on Update Manager in the Control Center and see if 
this will get everything.

Also, there's lots of confusion about version 8. There is a free version 
of 8. Check at:
