TSGL: AVG 7.5

OK, just tested by changing my date to July 6, 08 and sent myself a message
that arrived today stamped July 6. So now I know it's the computer's version
of the date that sets the transmission time in the time stamp. Also learned
that it's my Outlook that determines when to wipe out messages from my ISP's
store (normally I retain 10 days messages before deleting 'cause normally
when I have to rebuild a system, I want to make sure that the last 10 days
are there). But when I sent the message with my calendar set to July 6,
almost all of my messages (except hotmail and gmail) were wiped out. Live
and learn.

Ian, thanks.

Mike, check your computer's date!

I can't remember if the Sent: is a timestamp from the senders computer or
the SMTP server, but someone is living 2months ahead of us.

A question: How did you get this message sent on July 12, 2008? I've often
wondered how spammers do it, but really didn't want to ask THEM. But you did
it, so I thought I'd ask.

My AVG 7.5 icon is showing that it is out of date. I click to update and
the process seems to go ok, and says that I have updated. But afterward the
icon remains in the outdated color and continues to say it is out of date.
Also, they seem to be pushing the new paid 8.0 version. Any ideas what is
going on here?
