TSGL: Embedded fonts in normal.dot

I have a client who has become fixated on one particular font which he
prefers to all others. The only problem I have is that the font he "must
have" exists only as an embedded font in a normal.dot template that was
originally in a Win 98 system (obviously long gone) and has been promulgated
into later systems. Unfortunately, the font file which was originally used
many years ago can not be found on any system, the font with the same name
(but slightly different appearance--which he says is not acceptable) IS
available for purchase (about $500 in a package of fonts) but won't work
'cause it's "different".
So far I've been able to simply copy the normal.dot file from the one system
that has the embedded font to the other administrative workstations, but
each time one of the admin assistants tries to save a new normal.dot, it
disappears, which makes him less than happy.
Does anyone have any thoughts about what to do with this? (I've found
substitute fonts, but he doesn't like them as much as this one particular
font).
Before I go back to him and simply tell him he going to have to choose
either to keep the font from the past (with the attendant inefficiencies and
problems) or choose a reasonable facsimile which he can use in the future, I
thought I'd tap into the group mind and see if someone might have a solution
to my dilemma.
Thanks,
Alan Mitchell
